Real Life Math Project
Grade 7
Project Timeline: 10 forty minute periods (aprox. 2 weeks)
Description: This project is designed to utilize technology to help students make connections between math and
their daily lives.
Objective: Identify aspects of life in which math concepts can be seen or used and create a digital story including
images and narration to identify mathematical opportunities and tangible examples from the environment.
Procedure: Students will use digital cameras and Internet sites to collect images that portray a mathematical concept.
Students will then use authoring software to import and edit their videos.
